Summer Service Initiative
We hope all is well with you and yours. Your support and input is needed as we move forward with a project we are sure you would want to be involved in.
We are in the process of rallying the brothers to get back to the basics. As men of Sigma our biggest charge is to take back the knowledge obtained at institutions of higher learning back to our communities. Our communities need our help more than ever. So, where do we begin?
We are requesting your presence in New Orleans, LA, the site of Conclave 2009. During the week of the conclave we are planning a major service initiative and need all hands on deck. The summer of 2009 will be a summer of service for the men of Sigma. We are calling on all brothers from all seven regions to lend a hand. We do not only need your presence, but your ideas and feedback as well to make this initiative a success. All participants are partners in this project. There will be no politics involved. Our only goal is to get Sigma men down to New Orleans to work in the local community. It is vital that we begin the initial planning now and pass on the information to brothers ASAP. This will allow them to make necessary travel plans. A tentative schedule is included with the attached letter. We are already working with local organizations to set up some of the scheduled activities.
Please take the time to read the attached letter and give us your feedback. We ask that you share this with all brothers you have contact with. All are invited to participate. With your support this can be a success and the push we need to get Sigma back on track.
We look forward to hearing from you and working with you to make this happen. Please, do not hesitate to contact us with any questions and/or concerns.
Our goal is to have 30 – 50 brothers participate from each region. Each Region will have their Regional Team with three Regional Representatives on the Committee. This will make it easier to track brothers within each region. We have the location and the initial plan, all that is missing is you.
See you in the BIG EASY!!!
