{"id":146,"date":"2006-12-19T12:09:12","date_gmt":"2006-12-19T20:09:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bluephi.net\/blog\/?p=146"},"modified":"2006-12-19T12:13:54","modified_gmt":"2006-12-19T20:13:54","slug":"yahoo-holiday-gift","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bluephi.net\/blog\/2006\/12\/19\/yahoo-holiday-gift\/","title":{"rendered":"help me pick a charity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>every year, Yahoo! founders jerry yang and david filo personally fund and distribute holiday gifts to the employees here at the sunnyvale headquarters. we&#8217;ve received some pretty snazzy gifts over the years: mp3 player, a fleece, gym bag, a comfy wool blanket that still gets a lot of use at home, and another jacket last year to name a few. this year they&#8217;ve flipped the script in giving us $100 to give to a charity of our choice. jerry and david have long been community minded as evidenced in the Yahoo! Employee Foundation. so they teamed up with four organizations to help us find a cause: <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.donorschoose.org\/yahooholiday\/\">DonorsChoose.org<\/a>, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.globalgiving.com\/yahoo.html\">globalgiving.com<\/a>, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.networkforgood.org\/Yahoo\/EmpGiving06\/\">Network for Good<\/a>, and YEFI (Yahoo!
