During its annual Scholarship Brunch the Education Committee of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc awarded $ 3,500 in scholarships to deserving high school seniors.<\/p>\n
Recipients were De’Von Washington, Christian Brothers College High School; Jourdon Morgan III, Hazelwood East High School; Chris Johnson, Lafayette High School; and Kendrick Strong II, Mel Carnahan High School.<\/p>\n
Organizers said, ?We continued our philanthropic legacy by upholding our motto, ?Culture for Service, and Service for Humanity.????<\/p>\n
Mr. Anthony McDonald, of the Risen Foundation, allowed all in attendance a preview of literary excerpts from books penned by several of his students.?The students spoke from the heart and gave a riveting display of all their hard work.<\/p>\n
The scholarship program continued with guest speaker, Bro. Eugene Simpson. Bro. Simpson, a father, brother, an educator, brought his entire repertoire and provided an exhilarating call to ACTION.<\/p>\n
