  8. During World War II, a BLACK WOMAN by the name of Josephine Baker<\/a> helped the Allies as a spy.<\/li>\n
  9. A black explorer by the name of Matthew Henson<\/a> accompanied Robert Peary to the North Pole. It is widely believed that Matthew Henson arrived at the North Pole 45 minutes before Robert Peary did.<\/li>\n
