What is little known is that another leader of the BPP was also a member of Sigma. Bro. Dr. Melvin Newton; yes the older brother of Bro. Huey Newton. Bro. Melvin Newton served as the BPP Minister of Finance. Both were members of Beta Tau and lived together while members of the chapter.<\/p>\n<p>As a side note, in addition to the Newton Brothers, the Original Central Committee was deep with well-known Black leaders (non-Sigmas: Bobby G.
