Sigma goes to Haiti

The Ever Forward Club plans a service-learning trip to Haiti to support rebuilding efforts, following the devastating 7.1 earthquake.

Oakland, CA January 16, 2010 – The Ever Forward Club will begin immediately fundraising to create a service-learning trip to Haiti for several students from the program.

Ashanti Branch (Fall 1993) Cal Poly grad in Civil Engineering ’98, Mills College M.Ed. 2004 and founder of The Ever Forward Club will travel to Haiti from February 13 – February 21, 2010 to work with local Haitian organizations to support the rebuilding process. His arrival will be approximately one month after the devastating Earthquake and many of the supply and resource centers will be stocked by that time. Branch will use his time working with one or several schools or orphanages by purchasing food, supplies and materials to help them with their recovery.

At the conclusion of this trip, each donor will receive a newsletter and/or video detailing how your money was put to use.

The Ever Forward Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, which is dedicated to building communities of students who are setting and achieving their personal goals inside and outside the classroom. Students in the Bay Area will begin fund-raising locally to fund a proposed Service Learning trip to Haiti during the summer 2010. During this trip Branch will make contact with local and government officials to lay the groundwork for the proposed summer trip.
