This article highlights a trip (likely by train) by the AAA Chapter (VSU – Petersburg, VA) to Virginia Seminary (Lynchburg) in ’33.
A chapter of Phi Beta Sigma would be chartered on Virginia Seminary’s campus almost 45 years later. The Delta Iota Chapter was one of the few, according to my research, chapters that we have ever chartered at a two-year institution. Virginia Seminary is now known as the Virginia University of Lynchburg and offers both graduate and undergraduate programs.
I’m guessing that “AA Chapter” is a typo; Lynchburg is much closer to Petersburg, VA (AAA Chapter) than it is to Wilberforce, OH (AA Chapter)…
