Please be advised that on September 6-8, 2007, Bro. Georg Iggers will be honored in Little Rock, Arkansas, during the 50th Anniversary of the integration of Little Rock’s Central High School. He played a pivotal role in this historic event.
“The Little Rock Desegregation Crisis: Fifty Years Later: An International Conference” September 6-8. The conference will begin on Thursday evening, September 6, in the Clinton Presidential Library with a keynote address by David Lewis, the author of a Pulitzer Prize biography of W.E.B. DuBois. The program on Friday will begin with a plenary session, “Civil Rights and National Memory”.
I plan on attending to support our brother. The event will take place at the Clinton Library, more details to follow. He is one of the first white men initiated into Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity and he will be attending Conclave this year in Charlotte. Bro. Iggers gave the keynote address at the 1955 Conclave in Louisville, Kentucky.
If you would like to attend, please forward your name and mailing address to Bro. Iggers so that you can receive an official program and be added to the invited list. Please let him know that you are a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity as well.
