A Pilgrimmage to Delta Chapter – Aug 18-19, 2006
Have you ever wondered what happened to Founder Charles I. Brown? This program will take an early look at the history of Delta chapter, and provide an opportunity to learn more about the early history of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., on the campus of Kansas State University. This session will also provide a forum to discuss the historical makeup of the fraternity and focus on prospective measures to maintain our history now and in the future.
Let’s pay our Founder and the early brothers of Delta Chapter the homage that they deserve for paving the way for all of us to be members of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
Kansas State University has arranged for us to tour the Delta Chapter House from the 1920s, they have set up an exhibit themselves of their Phi Beta Sigma History from the 1920’s, they will show us their archives and how items are maintained and kept, and they have arranged for us to speak with individuals who have knowledge of some the the early days at the Delta Chapter House and individuals who knew some of the earliest members of the fraternity. These were some great men. If you get a chance, although the book is out of print, pick up a copy of Livin the Blues by Bro. Frank Marshall Davis. Bro. Davis chronicles joining the frat in 1924, you will enjoy the book.

FINALLY got my conclave souvenir
it took me about 5 emails into IHQ and some friendly jabs at bro. jemison at western regionals and not to mention waiting 11 (yes eleven!) months for this. if you didn’t get one, i suggest you contact IHQ yourself.
of course, this didn’t come without any problems. i was told it would be sent to my address on file. it went to my previous address. oh so let’s see. my conclave packet came to my current address of 2 years. when i had a supporting role for the board, more than 1 email was sent out with my complete address and contact information. i received multiple mailings for the honorable r.o. sutton salute at my current address. and my crescent magazine…well that comes to my email inbox.
p.s. bjorn – i got one for you too.
