Bobby Seale is a Brother of Phi Beta Sigma. He attended Merritt College in Oakland and pledged there. Huey P. Newton also attended there as well.

The article you’re basing your statement on is incorrect. I am in the Bay Area and have brothers in my chapter from Beta Tau, including Huey’s brother, Melvin. I’ve confirmed with multiple sources that Bobby Seale was not initiated through Beta Tau chapter. We’ve yet to find a record of another chapter initiating him.
I was informed as well that Bobby Seale was not initiated into Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity through Beta Tau chapter as well. In fact, thus far Mr. Seale has yet to confirm that he has been initiated into Phi Beta Sigma at all.
Just for my own assuredness. I’d like to know whether or not Mr. Seale can sacn his certificate so it can be sent here to this site? That way we can all see it for ourselves.
Because first we all hear that both were members of Phi Beta Sigma. Then we hear that Bobby Seale is not a member of Phi Beta Sigma. Now we hear that Bobby Seale IS a member of Phi Beta Sigma and they both pledged at MERRITT COLLEGE instead of OAKLAND COLLEGE. I’m wondering which one is it now??
