i almost didn’t want to blog about this, but let’s just get to it….yes he won. yes he’s frat. is it just me or did this show make you conveniently forget that jerry rice and emmitt smith are frat?

At least you can see the brand on his arm…and Jerry forgot he was Frat after 1981…but seriously…this is a big issue to me, especially since I brought Emmitt in at U.F.
You can never get inside someone’s head or tell them what to do…but this is something that I do not understand. These Brothers are on the biggest public stage in the world, and you are right…you wouldn’t know they were Frat.
I’ve “asked” or “reminded” Emmitt and Hines Ward both to throw up the sign, wear a Sigma hat and/or shirt during interviews…do something. You can’t force them to, but it is just frustrating. Emmitt has Sigma para hanging in his house…which I am sure Jerry Rice doesn’t.
I have presented an idea (TWICE) to #32 about forming a commission that deals solely and specifically with our more “famous” Brothers. This commission would be responsible for staying in touch with these Brothers, letting them know where the conferences are, making sure they get their Crescent magazines, staying financial, working with their agents setting up public appearances, stressing the importance of “representing” in public, etc…just basically keeping them in the loop. You know the National Office isn’t going to have the time, interest, or manpower to do it.
I know at least 10 Brothers in the NFL, past and present, and could get into contact with at least 20 more…so I offerred to #32 that I would head the commission and would ask approximately 10-12 Brothers to assist me. But just like every other idea that I have presented to #32…it was ignored.
Hopefully, if we get a new Pres in Charlotte, I will present the idea once again…and I promise you and for those that know me, I am not about lip service…IT WILL WORK AND SIGMA WILL BE IN THE FOREFRONT. It is something that MUST be done.
