Brothers, Today in History Comes from Bro. Ricky Moss out of Georgia.
My name is Ricky Moss and I am member of Phi Beta Sigma (Beta Delta Sigma, Alpha Pi Chapters, Fort Valley State University). After hearing your presentation at the Southern Regional Conference and viewing the information on www.bluephi.net, I wanted to give you some information on Bro. William H. Pipes, the 16th editor of The Crescent. After reading the article in The Crescent, I was delighted to learn of his influence to Bro. Iggers becoming a Sigma and his involvement in the Little Rock Nine. A lot of people know of him being a Dean at Philander Smith. However, a few people know about his existence at Fort Valley State College in Georgia. Dr. Pipes chaired the English department and created the first debate. His most important deed is penning the words to the alma mater. Mallet, the attached pictures provides more information on him. It would be appreciated if Kevin and you share this information with other people.
