Man, I tell you, I continued to be blessed. Bear, thank you for the newsletter. You know one of my favorite things about collecting Sigma History is collecting the Conclave pictures of all of the members. Bro. Kelvin Faison out of Florida sent me this picture and told me it was from Conclave 1964 (50th Anniversary in Washington, DC). I was a little puzzled because I have a picture of 1964 Conclave and some of the folks in this picture where not in that picture (one is outside, one is inside, really didn’t mean anything). Well to make a long story short, Bro. Faison got the picture from Bro. Dr. Alex Brown, out of Houston, TX. I called Dr. Brown tonight and briefly spoke to him for a few minutes (I have to call him back this weekend). The picture belonged to his father, and he still has the envelope that the picture was sent in from 1963.
This picture was taken on the campus of Tennessee State University, December 1963 – Conclave.
Have you ever seen it before?
Do you know of any of the local brothers who maybe in this picture and still living? Eta Beta Sigma Hosted this event. Can you identify this part of the campus maybe?
This was a conclave picture that I did not have that I will now add to my collection.
Tell me our ancestors are not looking out for a Brother.
Please feel free to share with your chapter or maybe post it in your next newsletter. Dr. Brown told me that it was just sitting in a stack of papers that he recently found and that he is more than happy to share it. Of course I told Dr. Brown to save that envelope as well.
