Seniors citizens got the royal treatment at a Warner Robins nursing home on Serve-A-Senior Day.
Members of the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity spent Saturday afternoon helping residents of the Elberta Healthcare Nursing Home.
“It not only important to let our senior citizens know they have not been forgotten, but it is important for our community to know that they are here,” said Elainne Taylor, Activities Director at Elberta Healthcare.
Volunteers spruced up the facility by housekeeping and painting and gave residents haircuts and manicures.
Organizers say they hoped to make the people who live in the nursing home feel special.
“Just to see the face of the staff and the patrons that are here and how they are just glad to see us out here, just be able to bring a smile to their face and to know that he are doing something worth while,” said Eligah Pitts, a fraternity member.
Fraternity members say Serve-A-Senior day is about helping people who paved the way for the future.
