Doeba Bropleh

Doeba Bropleh

We lost a great Brother this weekend in Brother Doeba Bropleh. I first met Bro. Doeba in March 2006 during the Western Regional Conference in Ontario, CA. I’m pretty sure it was in the hospitality suite on the night before the conferene started. I made my rounds in the room catching up with Brothers I hadn’t seen in a while. I forget who it was that introduced us, but I knew right away this Brother was special. I was happy to learn he was in Sacramento (a mere 2.5 hour drive from me) and made frequent trips to the Bay Area so we were encouraged that we’d see each other often.

Over the years, we didn’t see each other much. Last I saw Bro. Doeba was earlier this year during a state meeting. In between helping get the meeting settled down, registering Brothers/chapters, and collecting money, he managed to catch me out of the corner of his eye, take a quick pause and give me a big ol’ hug like long lost friends. I’m gonna miss you, Doeba.

Bro. Tracy Morris, Western Region Secretary, sent out the following email over the weekend.

Today is a sad day in Sigma. We mourn the loss of a great brother who represented our Wonderous Band to the fullest. Bro. Doeba Bropleh served Sigma and the community with a zeal and diligence that was refreshing. Doeba…We will miss you. You knew what it meant to be a brother. You shared with us many of your dreams and ambitions. For your confidence and respect, we will always be indebted. There are few we trusted and respected as much as you and for that we will always be grateful.

Information on services and where you may send your condolences will be forthcoming.
