Born November 19, 1872 in Granville N.C., George Oliver Bullock earned a Bachelor of Theology in 1900 and an A.B. from Shaw University in 1901. He was awarded an honorary Doctor of Divinity in 1912. He was a clergyman in North Carolina, having served as a Missionary from 1901-1905. He was Pastor of the Friendship Baptist Church in Charlotte from 1905-1912, Pastor of First Street Baptist Church in Winston Salem from 1912-1918 and Pastor of Third Baptist Church in Washington D.C. from 1918 through the end of his life in 1958.
He served as a Trustee of Shaw University, President of the N.C. Baptist Convention, Executive Committee for the Lock Cary Baptist Foreign Missionary Society. Bro. Bullock was a Mason, an Odd Fellow, and a registered republican.
